The sink roll is a critical core component in hot-dip galvanizing and hot-dip aluminizing-zinc production lines; primarily installed within the zinc pot, it remains continuously submerged in high-temperature, highly corrosive molten metal baths. Its primary function—working in conjunction with stabilizer rolls—is to guide the steel strip continuously through the molten zinc, thereby ensuring the strip's smooth passage through the liquid medium and facilitating the adhesion of the coating. Our sink rolls are fabricated from specialized heat- and corrosion-resistant alloy steel. Produced through precision casting and a multi-stage heat treatment process, and further enhanced by an advanced thermal-spray ceramic surface coating, these rolls effectively resist the adhesion of zinc dross and the corrosive effects of the molten bath, thereby significantly extending the continuous operational cycle of the production line.
Product Features:
Precision Dynamic Balancing Design
Dynamic balancing tests are strictly conducted throughout the manufacturing process to ensure that the sink roll remains free of vibration, even during high-speed operation. This effectively prevents the steel strip from fluttering within the zinc pot, thereby minimizing coating thickness irregularities and improving the yield rate of finished products.
Optimized Dross Discharge Groove Structure
The roll surface features a scientifically engineered pattern of spiral or herringbone grooves. By harnessing the centrifugal force generated by rotation—combined with hydrodynamic principles—this design rapidly expels zinc dross accumulating between the roll surface and the steel strip, thereby preventing dross particles from scratching the strip's surface.
The tungsten-cobalt alloy shaft sleeves and arm sleeves we have developed for sinking rolls and stabilizing rolls offer superior wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and crack resistance—achieving a performance lifespan 5 to 6 times longer than that of conventional alternatives.
For sinking roll shaft sleeves and arm sleeves: Continuous service life of 30 to 45 days
For stabilizing roll shaft sleeves and arm sleeves: Continuous service life of 35 to 50 days
